Dr. Janet Beazley is an accomplished performer and teacher on recorders and
historical flutes, and also plays Renaissance guitar and viola da gamba. She
performs with Musica Angelica, Bach Collegium San Diego, and with her own
group, Accenti. Janet received a Doctorate in Early Music Performance and a
Masters in Music History from the USC Thornton School of Music, and has
taught at USC, UC Irvine, and Claremont Graduate University. She has directed
the UCR Collegium Musicum for fourteen years.
Dr. Beazley also coaches the Bluegrass Club at UCR, and is banjoist, vocalist
and songwriter with Chris Stuart & Janet Beazley, a nationally and internationally
touring duo specializing in original Bluegrass and Americana music. She is a
sought-after teacher banjo, bluegrass, and early music workshops across the
US, Canada, UK, and Europe.
